Honey Lemon Tea
A comforting, natural remedy that soothes sore throats, clears sinuses, and supports immune function.
- Squeeze one small lemon or orange into a cup.
- Add ½ tsp of Manuka honey.
- Mix in 1 tsp of organic apple cider vinegar.
- Fill the rest of the cup with hot water and sip slowly.
For extra support, add a touch of ginger or echinacea. Elderberry syrup, peppermint oil, or eucalyptus can also enhance the immune-boosting effect.
Essential Oils for Sinus & Throat Relief
Inhaling a blend of peppermint, basil, and oregano essential oils can help fend off viral infection, clear blocked or runny sinuses, and ease red, watery eyes. This method also helps clear viruses from the Eustachian tubes.
Hold the bottle a few centimetres from your nose — never too close, as the vapour is potent and can irritate nasal tissue. Inhale gently through the nose for several breaths.
For severe throat discomfort, a trace of oregano oil can be dabbed carefully to the back of the throat using a fingertip. Only use the smallest amount — it’s extremely strong and can cause a burning sensation. Breathe through your nose until it eases. This is an advanced method best reserved for those familiar with essential oil use.
Winter Tonic Tincture
The Winter Tonic combines Black Walnut Hull, Wormwood, Cloves, Plantain, Mullein, and White Horehound — a powerful mix to ease congestion, throat irritation, and chest tightness during cold and flu season.
For fast relief, take 5 ml (a small swig) and hold it at the back of the throat for about five minutes. If a little trickles down, even better. When swallowing, close your mouth slightly and take a slow deep breath. Hold briefly, then exhale gently through the nose. Repeat four to five times.
Cloves act as a mild anaesthetic to ease pain, while mullein encourages productive coughing and white horehound soothes irritation. This tonic supports both respiratory comfort and immune strength.
Parasite Cleanse (Triplex) Tincture
The Triplex Tincture blends Black Walnut Hull, Wormwood, and Clove, renowned for their ability to combat bacterial, fungal, parasitic, and microbial infections. It can be used externally in the ears, nose, and mouth for targeted support.
Ears: Apply 3–5 drops (1–2 for children) and let sit for at least five minutes to relieve discomfort and fight infection.
Nose: Apply a few drops carefully. As this tincture is alcohol-based, a mild burning sensation is normal. For deeper relief (reaching the Eustachian tubes), you can dilute a small amount in a neti pot. Keep in place for five minutes to support sinus clearing and infection control.
Mouth: A few drops held in the mouth help reduce bacteria, ease gum inflammation, and relieve tooth pain or infection.
Elderberry Syrup
Naturally sweet and packed with antioxidants, Elderberry Syrup helps reduce cold and flu duration, eases coughs, and strengthens the immune system. It’s gentle enough for children, making it a family favourite during winter.
A spoonful daily supports immunity; increase to two or three times per day at the first sign of illness. Combining with echinacea or astragalus boosts its effectiveness.
Fire Cider
Fire Cider is a traditional herbal vinegar tonic designed to stimulate circulation, clear sinuses, and strengthen immune defences. It’s made by steeping apple cider vinegar with garlic, onion, horseradish, ginger, turmeric, and cayenne, then finishing with honey.
A teaspoon daily helps maintain immune readiness, while a tablespoon every few hours at the onset of symptoms can shorten recovery time. Its warming properties promote sweating and detoxification.
